[ So far this week was shaping up to be a miserable one. While Rin was used to solitude and keeping to herself, what she was unprepared for was the inability to understand everyone around her. Even when she spoke out loud or to her pegapony Eris, nothing she says out loud sounds remotely like a word. Once she's dried up her tears from another crying fit (poor Waver Velvet) and storming off, she pulls out her pocket watch to try to see if anyone else can speak with her. ]
‹Stupid, stupid, stupid.› [ Well, once she's done complaining out loud in Japanese. ]
‹What kind of teacher is incapable of understanding their student? I just want to kick him in his stupid head over and over again, stupid, stupid, stupid...›
[ Rin is at STAGE 5 and will be quite miserable for the rest of the week due to an ache in her arm while this is going on. While she can speak English and bits of German as well, she can't understand a single thing said to her which is adding to her frustration. Have fun with the temperamental nine year old. ]

‹That's you.
That's how you sound right now!›
[ This is beyond the normal realm of teasing for her so it's probably serious... Try to not take too much offense to it, Kirei. ]
no subject
[Well, that was a problem. Kirei stopped to think this over carefully; judging by everyone's reactions, it seemed to be a difference in what was being said and what was being heard. Therefore...]
[Gesturing to Rin to wait a second, he switched to text and wrote in Japanese.]
What about now? Can you understand this at all?
no subject
‹Yes, I can read.
I'm not uneducated, Kirei.›
no subject
[kirei, you're supposed to be the adult here.]
no subject
‹So what?
Is it my fault that you're speaking jibberish? You should learn to properly enunciate things and how to actually talk before you criticize my hearing.›

‹Aren't you a little old to be playing games like this with a child?›
no subject
And you are far from the only one afflicted by this, as well.

‹I don't know what to do.›

‹Sort of how things played out last month? Is this a common occurrence?›

My arm hurts and the man I live with can't understand me that well. His Japanese is poor.›

You can come over to my apartment for a while, if you prefer.

[ It might have been something he picked up after he became her legal guardian. ]

No grown man was going to tell her that it was made from her father's bones. ]

What have you been doing for it in this place before now?
no subject
‹It wasn't hard to outsmart both Archer and Waver.›

Come over if you want. I'll do my best to think of something that can help, but I can't promise a solution.
no subject
Only because you can understand me and he can't.›
[ Which means Kirei is now stuck with her until this ends. Rejoice... ]

I'll be sure to have tea waiting, at least.
[you prissy princess you]

‹I'll need a place to nap as well.› [ She is a little girl. ]

‹Fresh sheets.
You may as well pick up a new pillow as well. I don't want yours.›
no subject
[
There was probably a reason he dumped Caren with her mother's family.]Understood.
no subject
‹On second thought keep yours there.
Tea and something to munch on.›
no subject
Of course. I'll come up with something.
